Carolene & Russell have been professional dancers, choreographers and teachers for over 30 years specialising in Authentic Jazz Dance, which includes the Charleston, Lindy Hop and Rhythm Tap to name but a few of the popular dances. They travelled the world teaching and performing with ‘The Jiving Lindy Hoppers’, not only at swing dance camps but working in schools, colleges and theatres recreating the dances that they enjoy as often as possible with bands and orchestras. In their years on the road they have performed in every kind of venue ranging from village halls, small, middle and large scale theatres. One of the largest venues being the Olympic Stadium where as well as dancing they were assistant choreographers for the NHS section of the London 2012 Opening Ceremony.
History is an essential part of their learning and they have been fortunate enough to work with many of the “greats” of the swing dance world including Frankie Manning, Norma Miller,Chazz Young, George and Sugar Sullivan and the Mama Lou Parks Dancers.
Along with Rhona & Niall, Carolene & Russell were founder members of the Edinburgh Swing Dance Society and are looking forward to being back in one of their favourite cities in the world doing what they love best, sharing the joy of Authentic Jazz Dance.
