Set your alarms! Tickets for Winter Swing Weekend go on sale this Sunday 9 July at 5pm on Dancecloud.
We’ve extended this term 4 extra weeks, so we’ll have extra beginners classes every week until Thursday 13th July.
Social dancing as usual with mixed intermediate/advanced classes downstairs as well as open practice sessions upstairs afterwards.
We then get kicked out of the LifeCare centre for the summer so they can do some renovations. Our next term for beginners will start on an amazing new floor on Thursday 7th September!
20 July, 7.30-10.30
Before the festival break, we’ll have out end of term band night and summer party at Lauriston Hall. We’ve got Iain Ewing and the Chevaliers playing for us all night!
Please note this is not our usual venue. Prices will be the same as usual for the night and you can pay on the door.
This Thursday the 20th of April we’ll be learning Frankie Manning’s version of the Shim Sham from 7:30pm!
The Shim Sham was originally created by Leonard Reed and Willie Bryant as a tap dance. Frankie adapted it for Lindy Hoppers during the swing revival in the late 1980’s.
This fun dance with funky jazz steps is suitable for all levels and performed on social dance floors around the world so is a really good one to add to your repertoire.
Then from 8:30-10:30, we’ll have social dancing to the wonderful sounds of King Louis and the Primas.
We’ll provide some nibbles, and you can also BYOB.
£4 for students/concessions/
£5 for non-members
