Tranky Doo – 21st April

This week, instead of having an improver and an intermediate class, we’re offering you all the chance to learn a fab jazz routine – ‘The Tranky Doo’. If you’ve never seen the routine you’ll find plenty of versions on YouTube, but there’s a vintage clip here.

So, from around 8.40pm – 9.40pm this Thursday, we’ll be teaching ‘The Tranky Doo’ (PART 1). If you’ve seen it and always wanted to learn it, now’s your chance. We’ll take it as far as we can in the hour, because we want to devote the rest of the evening (till around 10.20pm) to social dancing.

ESDS Technique and Connection Workshops

If you’ve been dancing for a year or more and want to take your partnered dancing to the next level, these are the workshops for you. A chance to work more intensively on your Lindy Hop technique, connection and styling. You should have a good grasp of the basics and be keen to get up on the social dance floor with a variety of partners. Each workshop will have a different theme and will include exercises, drills, personal feedback, and will help you identify areas of your dancing to work on afterwards. A series of monthly workshops, focussing on your partnered connection and core Lindy Hop technique.

Happy New Year

Happy New Year everyone. 2016 is the 20th anniversary of ESDS and we hope you’ll come and celebrate with us at some point in the year.

New classes start tomorrow, Thursday 7th January at 7.30pm. You don’t need to have danced before or have a partner to come along. It’s a great way to burn off those holiday calories! You can find more information on our Classes page.
