Winter Swing Weekend

Stop press!  We’ve added details of the types of ticket that will be available here. Other information about the weekend and the teachers is on the main workshop page.

Frankie 99

May 26th 2013 would have been Frankie Manning’s 99th birthday and to celebrate we have organised two special classes.

Frankie Choreography – at the intermediate class on Thursday May 23rd (9.15), we will be teaching some Frankie Favourites and incorporating the  Global 99 Choreo steps, which we’ll film and upload to the website. So, come along ready to start at 9.15pm and bring something tartan. The choreo is not that difficult and it would be great to see men in kilts!

For those who can’t wait to take a look at the steps, you can see them on the FrankiesBirthday website.

The Tranky Doo – on Saturday May 25th Christie and Paul will be teaching the Tranky Doo. This is a really fun jazz dance routine, and was first danced in Frankie’s favourite dance hall, the Savoy Ballroom in Harlem. No need to book in advance and no partner required. £5 or £4 members/concessions. 2.00-4.00 pm St Stephens Church, St Stephens St, Edinburgh EH3 5AB.
